WOONSOCKET – The World Record for the longest bra chain was broken on Monday, Oct. 14 through a decade-long project known as the Athena’s Cup.
The effort aimed to raise awareness aimed to raise awareness about breast cancer and the importance of regular exams, and also served as a fundraiser. It allowed Athena’s Home Novelties founder and CEO Jennifer Jolicoeur, a North Smithfield resident, to raise some $46,000 for breast cancer research and support.
Volunteers spent ten days assembling the chain, finally finishing the work on Monday afternoon.
