Pascoag Public Library has announced a new discussion group to be held on the third Monday of each month starting at 6 p.m. where guests are invited to bring in whatever they are reading and share their views. Refreshments will be served. Registration is appreciated but not required.

9/11 memorial

On Wednesday, Sept 11 the Harrisville Fire Department will hold a 9/11 memorial at the the Firefighter’s Memorial Park in Harrisville. The park contains a piece of steel from the Twin Towers. The public is welcome to the memorial service, which is scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m.

Basketball signups

The Burrillville Youth Basketball Association is now accepting registrations for the 2019-2020 season. Online registration will be open until October 6 and can be found here.

Seeking vendors

The Assembly Theatre is still seeking vendors for the community yard sale scheduled for Saturday,  Oct. 5 with setup starting at 7 p.m. Reserve a 10 X 10 space here.

Town meetings

The Pascoag Fire District will hold their annual meeting on Monday, Sept. 9 starting at 7 p.m. at 141 Howard Ave. Residents will have the chance to elect one clerk, one moderator, one tax assessor, two fire commissioners for three year terms and one fire commissioner for a one year term. All residents of the district, or those taxed by the PFD, are eligible to vote.

The Burrillville Planning Board will hold a zoning amendments for alternative energy on Monday, Sept. 9 starting at 7 p.m. in the Jesse Smith Memorial Library Community room.

The Burrillville School Committee will hold their regular meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 10 at 6:30 p.m. in the Burrillville High School media center. The agenda can be found here.

The Conservation Commission will hold their regular meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 10 starting at 7 p.m. at the town building at 105 Harrisville Main St.

The Burrillville Town Council will hold their regular meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 11 starting at 7 p.m. at the Burrillville town building.

There will be no zoning board hearing for the month of September.
