Pascoag father and son among 11 arrested for trespassing near Burrillville power lines

BURRILLVILLE – Two days of checks for illegal activity by the National Grid power lines led to the arrests of 11 men from Burrillville and surrounding towns last week, including a father and son from Pascoag.

Burrillville police visited the area around 9:40 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 24 to check for illegal ATV activity. The stop resulted in the arrests of seven area men for willful trespass and obstructing an officer.

The arrests included Joseph Leal, 31, of 9 Jefferson St., Warwick; Joseph Paldino, 41, of 1 Depot St., Apt. D, Sutton, Mass.; Joshua Perry, 19, of 310 Talcott St., Woonsocket; Jamison Raymond,45, of 314 Bertenshaw Road, Woonsocket; Joseph Desrosiers, 48, of 10 Railroad St., North Smithfield; Ryan Archambault, 30, of 5 West St., Douglas, Mass.; and Brodie Stamps, 25, of 234 Aldrich St., Uxbridge, Mass.

All seven suspects were released on a summons to appear in 6th District Court at a later date.

The following day, Sunday, Aug. 25, police returned to the area around 8 a.m. and made three additional arrests, only this time some of the suspects – a father and son – reportedly tried to flee from officers.

As a result, the men were charged with high speed pursuit and resisting arrest, along with trespass and obstruction charges. Jamie L. Lynch, Jr., 19, and Jamie L. Lynch, Sr., 43, both of 1236 East Wallum Lake Road Pascoag, were also released on a summons to appear in 6th District Court at a later date.

Owen Simko, 19, of 21 Cushing Road, Wellesley, Mass., was also arrested that morning, and charged with willful trespass and obstructing an officer.

A final arrest was made around 10:30 a.m. the same day, when a Burrillville man turned himself in.

Jamie Campopiano, 45, of 400 East Ave., Harrisville was charged with willful trespass and obstructing an officer, and released on a summons to appear in 6th District Court at a later date.

Members of the police department also arrested two individuals for drag racing last week.

On Tuesday, Aug. 27, at 3:34 p.m. members of the Burrillville Police Department arrested Ankit Mahajan, 31, of 17 Pleasant St., Putnam, Conn., and charged him with reckless driving/drag racing/eluding police.

On Saturday, Aug. 31 at 1:23 a.m.  Tony Dooley, 27, of 273 Lake Shore Dr., Pascoag was arrested and charged with DUI, 1st offense, and reckless driving/drag racing/eluding police.
