Llamas, Concert on the Lawn: Five things to know in Burrillville this week

Bayberry Summer Concert

Bayberry Commons will hold a summer concert on the lawn on Wednesday, June 26 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. featuring music by Illusions, playing hits by Zac Brown, Jimmy Buffet the Rolling Stones and more. There will be calm cakes & chowder, weiners, Del’s lemonade, ice cream, temporary tattoos and more at the event. Parking and entry is free, and guests are reminded to bring their own lawn chairs.

Council meeting

The Burrillville Town Council will hold their regular meeting on Wednesday, June 26 starting at 7 p.m. in the town building for an agenda that can be found here.

At the libraries

Both Pascoag Public Library and Jesse Smith Memorial Library are holding summer reading programs with this year’s theme: A Universe of Stories. The facilities will have various events, activities prizes and more through August. The Pascoag Public Library will host a Drop In Lego Club today from 3:30 to 5 p.m. All builders welcome to visit and design their own creations. The program is held every Monday afternoon.

On Wednesday, Jesse Smith Memorial Library will host Llamas and Fire Cracker Pops from 4 to 6 p.m. with Dandy Acres. Families are welcome to drop by and visit the animals.

On Thursday, Jesse Smith will host Meal Prep with Chef Ricardo, the first of two cooking classes that will be held at the library this summer. Guests ages 17 plus are invited to learn to cook like a pro. Registration is required with the Reference Department by calling 710-7800.

EFSB takes up interconnect project

The Energy Facility Siting Board will hold an open meeting on Tuesday, June 25 at the Public Utilities Commission Office in Warwick to discuss a joint application by National Grid and Clear River Energy Center to construct the Burrillville interconnection project.

The board voted last week to deny the application by Invenergy to construct the CREC and, according to the agenda found here, will now vote on closing the related application.
