Rosa joins Burrillville Police force

BURRILLVILLE – A Tiverton native and former officer with the New Shoreham Police Department has joined the ranks of Burrillville police.

Alexander Rosa was sworn in during a brief ceremony last week at the Wallace F. Lees Public Safety Complex.

Rosa graduated from Tiverton High School in 2012, where he was captain of the boys’ basketball team.

He received his associate’s degree in criminal justice from the Community College of Rhode Island in 2015 and his bachelor’s from the University of Rhode Island.

A Burrillville resident, Rosa graduated from the Rhode Island Municipal Police Training Academy in December of 2018.

He previously worked for Lister Technology and the New Shoreham Police Department

Colonel Stephen Lynch introduced the new recruit, who was sworn in as a probationary patrol officer by Town Clerk Louise Phaneuf on Wednesday, May 22.
