BURRILLVILLE – A woman is facing a felony charge of assault on a person over the age of 60 after reportedly hitting the woman she lives with.

Khionu Sybiern of Wallum Lake Road, identified by police as 25-year-old Joshua Soucy, has also been charged with disorderly conduct following the incident, which involved a 73-year-old female.

According to reports, the incident began around 9 a.m. on April 28, when Sybiern called for an ambulance, and asked to be transported to Fatima Hospital.

Paramedics later told police that while en route to the hospital, Sybiern told them that she had thrown things and assaulted the victim, referred to as her “aunt.”

The report notes that the victim and Sybiern are not blood relatives.

Sybiern reportedly told paramedics that she realized she needed help when she struck out at her aunt.

Police returned to the residence, where the 73-year-old victim told police they had an argument about Sybiern cleaning up, and that Sybiern began throwing things at her.

“She stated when she got up to leave the room out of fear, Joshua backhanded her, striking her right wrist area,” notes the report.

Sybiern was later brought before a bail commissioner and released on a summons to appear in 6th district court.
