Cheer on the undefeated Burrillville High School Boys Lacrosse team this afternoon, Monday, April 29, as they take on North Smithfield at 4 p.m. at Alumni Field.

At the libraries

Pascoag Public Library will host a genealogy meeting about extending your family on Monday, April 29 starting at 6 pm.

You’ve found out about your great-grandparents. What about their siblings? Where do they fit in your story? Materials will be provided and refreshments will be served.

Reservations appreciated but not required. Presented by Kathan Mospaw Lambert, President, Roger Williams Family Association.

Jesse Smith Memorial Library will host the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management for a free fly-tying workshops for novice and experienced fly-tiers and a fly-fishing clinic on Wednesday, May 3.

Instruction on freshwater angling will be included, and all equipment and materials will be provided. Participants are welcome to bring their own materials, if they prefer. Children ages 10 and older are invited to participate. Space is limited and registration is required. To register, contact Scott Travers at Scott.travers@dem.ri.gov.

BPAC meeting

The Burrillville Prevention Action Coalition will hold their monthly meeting on Wednesday, May 1 at 6 p.m. at Burrillville High School. BPAC will discuss, plan, and give updates on substance use prevention initiatives occurring within town and the region. Residents of Burrillville are always welcome.

Stories from the Land

On Thursday, May 2, the Burrillville Land Trust will host Stories from the Land with casual conversation, light bites and drinks at Jesse Smith Memorial Library from 6 to 8 p.m. All are welcome.

Town jobs

The Burrillville Sewer Commission is currently seeking a wastewater treatment operator. Learn more here.
