Comedy for BHS, movie night: Five things you need to know in Burrillville this week

Today is Monday, March 18. Here are five things you need to know.

Family movie night

Pascoag Public Library will host a Family Movie Night tonight – Monday, March 18 with a sequel to the Disney movie that Wrecked the box office. No registration is required for the event, which begins at 5:30 p.m.

BHS Comedy night

The Burrillville High School School Improvement Team will host a comedy night on Friday, March 22 at Wallum Lake Rod & Gun Club to raise money to cover the expenses of renovating the high school media center. Money will go toward improved flooring, seating, window treatments, and shelving.

Sponsors can also still sign up online. Sponsorships are $100 and the sponsors’ names will be posted on the event website, every table at the show, and the show’s backdrop for the entire event. Donations and raffle prizes are also being excepted.

Service scheduled

Funeral services for the Harrisville firefighter who died in a tragic accident last week have been announced.

A Funeral Mass for Ryan Ferris will be held Thursday, March 21 at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Good Help Church, 1063 Victory Hwy, Mapleville. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, 272 Sayles Ave., Pascoag. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Harrisville Fire Dept. to benefit his two daughters, which can be sent to 201 Callahan School St., Harrisville, RI 02830.

Town meetings

The Burrillville Screening Subcommittee will hold their regular meeting on Tuesday, March 19 at 4 p.m. in the town building at 105 Harrisville Main St. The agenda can be found here.

The Budget Board will hold their regular meeting on Thursday, March 21 at the town building starting at 6:30 p.m.
