Roger Williams’ descendants

Pascoag Public Library will host a new session on ancestry on Monday, Feb 25 focused on Roger Williams and his descendants. Speaker Kathan Mospaw Lambert will address questions including: Who was he? What was his story? Are you related? How do you find out? What is the Roger Williams Family Association?

According to Lambert, a lot of northern Rhode Island residents are descendants and don’t know it. The free event begins at 6 p.m. and all levels of expertise welcome. Registration is appreciated but not required by calling 568-6226.

This week’s town meetings

The Town Council will hold their regular meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 27 at the town building at 105 Harrisville Main St. starting at 7 p.m. The agenda can be found here.

The Budget Board will hold their regular meeting on Thursday, Feb. 28 starting at 6:30 p.m.

House takes up bill to change EFSB

House hearing on changes to the Energy Facility Siting Board will be held on Thursday, Feb. 28 at 4:30 p.m. in the House Environment Committee. Testimony from the public will be accepted on H-5446, submitted by Reps. Brian Newberry and David Place.

Trivia night

No New Power Plant will hold a trivia night fundraiser on Monday, Feb. 25 starting at 6 p.m. at Uncle Ronnie’s Tavern that includes a roasted chicken buffet. Tickets cost $20 and can be purchased in advance at East Coast Artisans or at the door.

GOP Dinner

The Burrillville Republican Town Committee and other northwestern Republicans will hold a buffet-style dinner at Hills Tavern in Harmony on Sunday, March 3 starting at 5 p.m. Enjoy an evening of food, drink, and networking. and meet the new BRTC leadership. Tickets are $15.
