Special Christmas service

The public is invited to experience a special Christmas service at the First Universalist Church tonight, Friday, Dec. 21. The service will be delivered by Rev. David Johnson and will feature the combined choirs of St. Theresa’s Church and Our Lady of Good Help. There will also be a special musical performance by “Fishing with Finnegan.” Don’t miss the magnificent lighting of candles in the historic chandelier, which only happens once a year. Refreshments will be served following the service.

Bake Sale for No New Power Plant

No New Power Plant Northern Rhode Island will hold a bake sale on Saturday, Dec. 22, with home made cookies, breads, and more. The event will be held at Brigido’s IGA at 54 Sayles Ave. in Pascoag from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Proceeds will benefit the Burrillville Land Trust and fight against building a new plant off of Wallum Lake Road.

Returning Art Festival seeks volunteers

Preparations are in full swing for the return of the Burrillville Arts Festival September 14 and 15, 2019. Anyone interested in being a vendor or volunteer can contact the group on Facebook at Burrillville Arts & Crafts Festival.

Town holiday schedule

The Burrillville Town Building will be closed all day on Monday, Dec. 24; Tuesday, Dec. 25; and Tuesday, Jan. 1. There will also be no trash or recycling pickup on Christmas and New Year’s Day, and pickup will be delayed for one day for the remainder of those weeks.
