Canobie Lake Park

We’re quickly closing in on the end of summer. I’m sure many familie’s wallets are feeling a little lighter from all of the summer fun, but for one last summer adventure we spent the evening at Canobie Lake Park. Along with two adults and five kids we had unlimited rides, and unforgettable fun.

Canobie Lake Park is in Salem, New Hampshire. It has a small water park and rides for all ages. It hosts three large roller coasters. There are boat rides, train rides, and restaurants/food stands sprinkled through out the park. Best of all – parking is free!

The regular admission is $39, $29 for 48 inches and under, and under age 3 is free. But if you go any night of the week past 5 p.m. it’s only $26 a person. Bring a Pepsi can product with the park label on it, and you get an additional buy 2 get one free. During the week they close at 9 p.m., but there isn’t much of a crowd so you won’t have to wait in any lines. Friday and Saturdays the park closes at 10pm, but if it’s really busy they’ll stay open even later with fire works, and you may expect longer lines for the rides.

We arrived in Salem, NH at 4 p.m. searching for the perfect pizza place for a group of 7. We discovered Romano”s Pizza, and ordered two large cheese pizzas and a 2-liter bottle of soda for $22. There wasn’t table service, which worked out better for our group. They had a counter with condiments, plastic cups, and paper plates. We waited comfortably in two booths side by side, and in less then 10 minutes, our pizza came out. The staff was so friendly, and it was one of the best pizzas I’ve had in a long time.

Over all, it was a great adventure! Four hours of unlimited rides was a perfect amount of time for us, being we didn’t wait in lines. Some rides we rode multiple times. There is just something about being on rides on a cool summer night, the abstract designs of the neon lights, the sugary smell of fried dough, and the echoing laughter of friends and families.

BONUS: In September, park admission will be $20 a person after 4 p.m. Check the website for more details.
