Clothing drive

Burrillville Youth Football and Cheer will hold a clothing drive on Saturday to benefit the Epilepsy Foundation at Hauser Field. Drop off your spare clothing, shoes, accessories, blankets, sheets, comforters and more between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.

National Grid work

National Grid will be doing preliminary work on the existing right of way that Clear River Energy Center might have to expand to accommodate the power plant project.

According to National Grid, the borings to be taken within the right of way do not constitute support for the project, but the work is needed to determine the sutability to construct in the future in the event the project is approved by the Energy Facility Siting Board.

The work is scheduled to start in early August.

Field Day

Pascoag Community Baptist Church will host a Field Day for kids ages 5 – 12 on Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. Odyssey In Outer Space will be the theme, and the church will have a bible story, songs, crafts, games, prizes and snacks. There is no cost to attend the event. Call 568-4963 for more information.

Alzheimer’s Plan Survey

The Office of Lt. Governor Daniel J. McKee has announced the Rhode Island State Alzheimer’s Plan Survey 2018.

Rhode Island developed a state plan for Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementia causing illnesses five years ago and has used many of its ideas. It is now being updated, and the office is asking for input from Rhode Islanders from all walks of life.

Surveys can be found here and must be completed by August 15.

Riverwalk concert: The Aviators

Catch the next band in the Riverwalk Times Concert Series. The Aviators will play hits of the 50s through the present day at Stillwater Mill Pavilion from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
