Blood drive, adult sports & Green Festival: Five things to know in Burrillville this week

Blood drive

The Burrillville Police Department at 1477 Victory Highway will host a blood drive on Tuesday, April 30 from 1 to 7 p.m. Donors can make an appointment by visiting ribc.org/drives using sponsor code 5060. Walk ins will also be welcome.

Five guys

Grab some dinner at Five Guys Burgers and Fries at 622 George Washington Highway in Lincoln on Tuesday, April 30 and help support the Steere Farm Elementary School PTA. The PTA will receive up to 15 percent of all sales from 5 to 8 p.m.

Green festival

The Pascoag Utility District and the town of Burrillville’s Parks and Recreation Department will host the town’s 16th annual Green Festival on Saturday, May 4 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Stillwater Mill Center at 75 Tinkham Lane. The free event will feature reusable bags packed with information and goodies for the first 400 attendees, and crafts and activities for children, and is chance to learn about local products and ideas that will help conserve energy and create a more sustainable lifestyle.

Adult sports

A new adult co-ed sports league is set to begin this Saturday, May 4, with options to play soccer or flag football at 9 and 10 a.m. and kickball or wiffleball at 11 a.m. noon and 1 p.m. Saturdays are for the sports will take place on Saturday mornings on the Steere Farm Elementary School back field and the cost is $60 for one sport. Town meetings

The Board of Assessment Review will hold a meeting on Tuesday, April 30 starting at 11 a.m. in the town building at 105 Harrisville Main St. The agenda is here.
