The family of Mapleville resident Ben St. Pierre has announced that his annual lemonade stand, held on Saturday, Aug. 22, exceeded expectations, raising $4,162 for the Burrillville Animal Shelter. It is the 11th consecutive year that the young man puts on the charity event.

“He knew going in that things might be different this year, but he never gave up on his goal,” noted a post following the event on social media. “He wanted to make more than last year. And he did.”

The family thanked the community this week, including those who donated funds as well as raffle items.
