Genealogy Roundtable

Pascoag Public Library will host their first genealogy roundtable on Monday, Feb. 24, presented by Kathan Mospaw Lambert, president of the Roger Williams Family Association. Guests are invited to bring their questions, trees and ideas and sympathize with their fellow family historians.

All levels of experience are welcome and reservations are appreciated but not required for the event, which starts at 6 p.m.

Refreshments will be provided.

Green drinks

The Burrillville Land Trust will host “Green drinks,” at Bravo Brewing Co. on Wednesday, Feb. 26, from 5 to 8 p.m., a monthly event with informational talks and a chance to sit down with others interested in environmental issues.  The events are an opportunity for like-minded people to connect and share concerns, successes, and failures.

Mr. Bronco

Burrillville High School will host the 33rd annual Mr. Bronco competition on Thursday, Feb. 27 starting at 6 p.m.  Visit the school for a night of talent, school spirit and entertainment.

Egg hiders needed

The Burrillville Parks & Recreation Department is in need of volunteers to help spread eggs at Branch River Park or to help with set up, check in, raffle tickets or clean up at the Burrillville Middle School Cafeteria at this year’s town Easter event.

The Easter Egg Hunt & Breakfast will be held on Saturday, March 28, and volunteers are asked to sign up by Monday, March 16.

Town meetings

The Town Council will host a special meeting tonight, Monday, Feb. 24 starting at 7:30 p.m. at 105 Harrisville Main St. to discuss the 2020 legislative agenda with Reps. Brian Newberry and David Place and Sen. Jessica de le Cruz.

The Burrillville Town Council will also meet on Wednesday, Feb. 26 at the town building starting at 7 p.m. for their regular meeting with an agenda found here. 

The Burrillville School Committee will hold a special meeting on Thursday, Feb. 27 starting at 6 p.m. in the Burrillville High School media center to discuss contract negotiations and personnel issues in executive session.
