Ride service launched

Age Friendly RI and The Village Common have launched a new Burrillville-based pilot program providing free rides to Burrillville’s older residents.

On Monday, Feb. 10, volunteer Tom Tatro provided the inaugural ride with the new service, bringing Linda Reynolds to her appointment at Nestor Physical Therapy.

Residents who live at Bradford Court, Ashton Court and Stillwater Heights had the chance to sign up for the pilot of the program, which eventually will be extended to those who live outside the complexes. Tatro noted that 35 people signed up for the pilot.

If you would like to volunteer to become a volunteer driver, contact Tatro at 568-5596 or Andrea Hall at 568-9470.
