Get your trees here
Troop 438 North Smithfield is selling Balsam Fir Christmas trees, between 6 and 7 feet tall, and customers can preorder in advance of the pickup date next weekend. Trees will be available on Sunday, Dec. 1 between 9 a.m. and noon at Scouter’s Hall.
Trees cost $45 and 50 percent of your purchase goes directly to Troop 438. They can be preordered here.
Community forum
The Parks and Recreation Commission will host an Open Community Forum on Saturday, Nov. 23 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the Primrose Fire Station.
Topics for potential discussion include the future of the Halliwell property, priorities for recreation, improvements for Pacheco Park, targets for open space, playgrounds and more.
Light refreshments will be served.
Artisan fair
The town’s 8th annual Artisan Fair will take place on Saturday, Nov. 23 at North Smithfield Middle School from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. See more than 50 unique artists, crafters, boutiques, and more; and enjoy activities for children including photos with Mrs. Claus.
The RI Blood Center will also be on site holding a blood drive in memory of Anna Kitada.
1st Responders Food Drive
Members of the North Smithfield police and fire departments will be conducting a food drive to benefit the North Smithfield Food Pantry at Walmart on Saturday.
Show your support and donate nonperishable food items. The collection will be held in the vestibule on the market side from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 7 Dowling Village Blvd.
Zentangle String Theory
A workshop on Saturday at 411 Central will explore the use of strings in Zentangle practice and no previous Zentangle experience is required.
The Zentangle Method is an easy, fun and relaxing way to create beautiful images using structured patterns. Proponents say it increases focus and creativity, and provides artistic satisfaction, along with an increased sense of personal well-being. The Zentangle Method is enjoyed all over this world across a wide range of skills, interests and ages.
In the workshop, you’ll learn about the Zentangle Method of drawing and create your first tile. The fee is $45. RSVP here.
