Car Show, 5K, Fall Festival: Five things you need to know in Burrillville this weekend

Car show

The Burrillville Lions Club will host their annual car show on Saturday, Sept. 28 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Burrillville Middle School. The event is free and will have arts and crafts, raffles, food and drinks, trophies for the winners, a DJ and live music by the Bel Aires.

Snack Pack Dinner Fundraiser

Berean Baptist Church will host a dinner fundraiser on Saturday, Sept. 28 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. The dinner will include chicken parmesan, pasta, salad and dessert, in the Granger Hall auditorium, with 10 percent of proceeds dedicated to the Burrillville Weekend Snack Pack program.

Tickets cost $12, or $5 for those 12 and under, and can be purchased by calling Donna Landry at (401) 651-5242 or Sharon Ponce at (401) 568-3069. Five years old and under are free.

Radio Badland

Oakley’s Tavern will host Radio Badland on Saturday, Sept. 28 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. The Rhode Island-based rock band plays music by Rush, Finger Eleven, Hagar, Aerosmith, Deep Purple, Dio, Theory of a Deadman, Black Crowes and more.

BPAC 5K

The Burrillville Prevention Action Coalition will hold their first 5K walk/run on Sunday, Sept. 29 starting at 9 a.m. Participants will enjoy a mostly flat scenic run through the side streets of Burrillville.

The event will start and end at the Burrillville High School, and is scheduled to take place on Whipple Avenue, East Avenue, Oakland Avenue, and Victory Highway.

Burrillville Police advise those who may be traveling on the roadways that they may experience a slight delay during the time of the race, which is expected to be about one hour. Those traveling the roads are asked to be cognizant and aware of runners.

Fall festival at the farm

Mapleville Farms will hold its 7th annual Fall Festival on Sunday, Sept. 29 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The farm will offer kids games and activities; pony rides from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for  $5 a ride; artisan vendors; pumpkin painting; blacksmithing demonstrations; and visitors Burrillville Rocks and Aquaponics Greenhouse Tours.
