Hydrant flushing, Line dancing: Five things you need to know in Burrillville this week

Hydrant flushing

The Pascoag Utility District and Harrisville Fire District Water Department will perform hydrant flushing this week for Harrisville and Pascoag water customers as part of annual maintenance of water lines. The flushing will take place from Monday, May 13 through Friday, May 18 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. The flushing process may cause discoloration for a short time and residents are advised to run their water until it clears.

Bills due

The Burrillville Sewer Commission reminds residents that third quarter sewer bills are now due, and will be subject to a penalty after Tuesday, May 14. Payments can be made online at riegovernment.com, mailed, or dropped off at 141 Clear River Ave. during business hours.

Line dancing

A new beginner line dancing class will be offered at the Burrillville Community Recreation Center on Sunday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. from June 30 to August 25 with instructor Christine Chito. The cost is $40 for eight lessons or $8 for a drop in. Download the registration form, to be mailed with payments here.

Town meetings

The Burrillville Recreation Commission will hold their regular meeting on Monday, May 13 starting at 6:30 p.m. in the Jesse Smith Memorial Library.

The Burrillville Zoning Board will hold a hearing on Tuesday, May 14 at 7 p.m. at Town Hall for an agenda that can be found here.

The Burrillville School Committee will hold their regular meeting on Tuesday, May 14 at 6:30 p.m. in The Burrillville High School media center for an agenda that can be found here.

Stretch and Strengthen

Pascoag Public Library will present Stretch and Strengthen, a slow movement, full body training class with instructor Essentrics Raindrop Fisher on Thursday, May 16 starting at 6:30 p.m.. Registration is required for this 18+ class by calling 568-6226 or stopping by the library
