Rabies clinic

Burrillville Animal Control will hold the town’s annual rabies clinic on Saturday, April 20 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Public Works Department at 65 Union Ave. in Pascoag. The cost is $11 per vaccine, cash only.

Cats and ferrets must be in carriers and dogs on leashes. Dogs should be muzzled if necessary. Proof of prior vaccine (expired no longer than six months) is required to receive a three year certificate. All others will receive a one year certificate. Ferret rabies certificates are for one year only.

At the libraries

Jesse Smith Memorial Library will host a crafting session where participants, ages 17 and up, will make their own loofahs and shower melts on Saturday, April 20 from 11 a.m. to noon. Contact the reference department at 710-7800 to register.

The Pascoag Public Library will host an an Easter craft egg dyeing session  for all ages on Saturday, April 20 from 11:30 a.m. to noon. No registration is required.

Live music

Daniel James Durand will play at Oakley’s Bar and Grill on Friday, April 19 from 8:30 to 11:30 p.m.

The Strumdawgs will play at Uncle Ronnie’s Red Tavern tonight starting at 9 p.m. Boston Bruins game five will also be playing starting at 7 p.m.

Work out

Get in shape before you tackle that Easter ham on Sunday at a drop-in fitness class in town.

Tobin-style Boot Camp will take place on Saturday from 7:45 a.m. to 8:15 p.m. and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. at the The Lodge at 50 Lodge Road. The drop in fee is $5.

Earth Day

Monday, April 22 is Earth Day, and while the town wide cleanup won’t take place until next weekend, you can join this local Girl Scout troop and get an early  start by cleaning up your neighborhood.

You can also celebrate by getting outside to enjoy the Blackstone Valley this weekend, and hiking, biking or fishing at local parks and ponds.
