BURRILLVILLE – A Pawtucket-based company has launched a year-long effort to buy everyone in the state a beer, and on Friday, Feb. 22, representatives will make a stop at Pascoag Cafe.

Representatives from Narragansett Beer will be in town as part of the company’s Buy RI tour, where they’ll visit all 39 municipalities in Rhode Island, in alphabetical order. The tour began Friday, Feb. 8 with a stop at Blue Water Grille in Barrington.

This Friday, beginning at 5:30 p.m., they’ll hand each customer who walks through the door one of the beer company’s iconic wooden nickels, which can be traded for one “Gansett at the bar.

The first 50 people at the event will also receive a pint glass.

The restaurant is located at 150 Pascoag Main St.

“For generations, Rhode Island’s bars and restaurants have acted as community centers where neighbors, regardless of their differences, get together over food and beer to talk about life,” noted a statement on the promotion.” We go to our neighbors and our neighborhood bars to support each other, learn from one another, to console, celebrate, and share stories. They really are the lifeblood of both our community and our history.”

“This year we want to celebrate these establishments and all of our neighbors in our small but mighty state, and thank you for making our community different and ever-changing. To do this, we want to buy everyone a ‘Gansett. Yep, every single person in the state if we can. You’ve earned it.”
