On Tuesday, Oct. 23 from 7 to 9 p.m. the Burrillville Historical & Preservation Society will hold its next meeting at Bridgeton School at 16 Laurel Hill Ave. in Pascoag. Following the meeting, there will be a presentation titled “Stories from the Grave,” with true stories from cemeteries in Burrillville that are interesting and vary in topic. They may be horrible, weird, bizarre, sad, unusual or frightening.

Town Hall with Allan Fung

On Wednesday, Oct. 24 from 6 to 9 p.m., Republican gubernatorial candidate Mayor Allan Fung will visit the First Universalist Church at 134 Harrisville Main St. for a town hall forum.  The event is not meant to serve as an endorsement, but a chance to have intimate access to one of the three final candidates for the state’s highest office and make a informed choice on Nov. 6, according to organizers. The night of, attendees may sign up for the opportunity to ask Fung a question or make a comment.

The event is free, and open to the public and media. The two hour discussion will be followed by light refreshments and, if time permits, photo opportunities with the mayor.

Seating is limited.

Town meetings

Also on Wednesday, the Town Council will hold their regular meeting at the town building at 105 Main St. beginning at 7 p.m. View the agenda here.
