Do you hear the bells? Today, Monday, April 21, is the day that communities across the Blackstone Valley ring in the country’s semiquincentennial, memorializing the “shot heard round the world” at the battles of Lexington and Concord that began the American Revolution. At 1 p.m., institutions across the region, including the Slatersville Congregational Church, will ring their bells for two and a half minutes.

At 5:30 p.m., the church at 25 Green St. will also host a program – free and open to the public – to mark the event with speakers, music, lanterns and more.
