
Meet & greet
The Burrillville Police Department is inviting the public to meet Michelle Gerard, the new Substance Abuse Prevention Coordinator for the Burrillville Prevention Action Coalition. A Meet and Greet will be held in the community room of the public safety complex at 1477 Victory Highway on Monday, April 28 starting at 5 p.m.
Blood pressure screening
Bayberry Commons Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation will offer free blood pressure screenings at the Beckwith Bruckshaw Memorial Lodge at 50 Lodge Road on Thursday, April 24 from 11 a.m. to noon. Screenings will be provided on a walk in basis at the event, sponsored by Burrillville Senior Services.

Opening Day
Burrillville Little League will hold Opening Day ceremonies on Saturday, April 26 at the fields on Casino Avenue. The snack bar will open at 9 a.m. with ceremonies to begin at 10 a.m.
Art supply swap & book sale
Jesse Smith Library at 100 Tinkham Lane will hold two events on Saturday, April 26 with a book sale sponsored by Friends of the Library from 9 a.m. to noon in the Stillwater room. The sale will include children’s books, fiction, nonfiction and puzzles, with all proceeds to help pay for programs.
Starting at 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the library will have an art supply swap, with artists and hobbyists invited to stop by and snag some free supplies. Donations from the swap can be dropped off at the library through Thursday, April 24 with no registration required.
Guided walk
The Burrillville Land Trust will host a guided walk of the Edward Volk Conservation Area on Saturday, April 26 starting at 10 a.m. Join members of the land trust to see the nearly 140 acre property that is owned by the all volunteer public charity. Walkers will meet across from the corner of Jackson Schoolhouse Road and Olney Keach Trail and should park along Jackson Schoolhouse Road opposite the Bobcat Loop Trail trail head. The 2.5 mile hike includes glacial erratics such as a split stone, a stone prayer seat, a niche stone and a balancing stone. Ancient stone cairns, a walk along an inland stream, a few water crossings and more may be observed.
Hikers are asked to wear sturdy hiking shoes as the walk will go along rough terrain and bring a water bottle. No registration is required for the free event, which is open to anyone.

Bingo
The Downtown Pascoag & Neighborhood Association will host a Bingo & Quarter Auction event at 50 Lodge Road on Sunday, April 27 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will feature food, raffles and more, at a cost of $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12 for eight chances at Bingo and six quarter auction paddles.

The Burrillville 250 Commission will hold a meeting on Monday, April 21 starting at 7 p.m. at the Wallace F. Lees Public Safety Complex at 1477 Victory Highway. The agenda is here.
