BURRILLVILLE – The Bus Stop Kids want to remind everyone that it’s back-to-school after a weeklong spring vacation week here in Rhode Island, and bus stop safety is still very important for avoiding unintentional injuries.
Kids should always stand in line while waiting for the school bus to arrive in the morning to pick them up for school. Kids should not push or shove each other. They should not run around or stand in the street while waiting for their buses. Never run across the street in order to reach your bus stop. Walk slowly and carefully. Prevent falls and injuries. Look both ways before crossing streets and make sure there are no vehicles approaching from either direction. When it’s all clear; then walk across the street.
Drivers please drive slowly and always watch for children during the school year. Stop at all bus stops when school bus lights are flashing and the stop sign is out.
Welcome back to school kids. Be safe just like the Bus Stop Kids.
