Award
Congratulation to Burrillville High School girls lacrosse coach Jennifer Polacek on being named the Spring Female Coach of the Year by the Rhode Island Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association. Polacek, a Burrillville resident, was also named Coach of the Year by the Girls Lacrosse Coaches Association All Division in 2021.

After hours mini-golf
Jesse Smith Memorial Library at 100 Tinkham Lane is inviting the community to a fun and free mini golf experience on Friday, April 18. After the library closes on Friday night, The Carnival Party, LLC will transform the 1st floor of the Jesse Smith Library into a 9-hole indoor mini golf course.
The after hours event is from 6 to 8 p.m. and is open to all ages. No registration is required for the drop-in style program. For more information, visit the library or call (401) 710-7800.

Third try for an egg hunt
The Burrillville Parks & Recreation Department will now hold its annual Easter Egg Hunt on Friday, April 18 starting at 11 a.m. at Branch River Park by Burrillville Middle School. Kids age 8 and under are invited to arrive no later than 10:45 a.m. with their own bag or basket. The event will include raffles, and Dinolicious food truck will be on site, with all proceeds to benefit Burrillville programs. The event, originally scheduled for April 5, was cancelled due to rain, then cancelled again on April 12.
Earth Day kickoff
Burrillville’s two-week-long Earth Day cleanup officially kicks off this week a DIY event sponsored by the Burrillville Lions Club, the Burrillville Conservation Commission and the town of Burrillville. Town tipping fees for disposal of little is waived from April 19 to May 4 and residents are asked to do their part by contacting [email protected] or calling (401) 710-4214 to sign up for a location and arrange supply pickup.
A Community Kickoff Event will be held on Saturday, April 19 at the Buck Hill Camping area. The community is invited to join volunteers for a cleanup starting at 9 a.m., followed by a .75 mile educational hike starting at 10 a.m., which will include a visit to Burrillville’s only known Native American chamber. No registration is required to join either part of the event at 464 Wakefield Road in Pascoag.
