Fundraiser

Support Ponaganset Middle School on Wednesday, March 26 with a visit to Chelo’s Hometown Bar & Grill at 445 Putnam Pike in Smithfield. Up to 20 percent of the cost of your check will be donated to the 8th grade class when you present the ticket found here.

Bingo

Hill’s Tavern at 417 Putnam Pike will host a Bingo and Quarter Auction event on Thursday, March 27 with shopping to begin at 5:30 p.m. and paddles up at 6 p.m. and five paddles purchased for $5. The event is expected to sell out and seats can be reserved by calling (401) 639-4108.

Chowder & clam cakes

The Chepachet Fire Department will hold its annual chowder & clam cake dinner on Friday, March 28 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the station at 1170 Putnam Pike. Enjoy red chowder at $5 a bowl and cakes at $5 per half dozen until they sell out.

Learn to Fish

The Chepachet Grange at 28 Chopmist Hill Road will host a class teaching basic, advanced and fly fishing on Saturday, March 29 from 10 a.m. to noon open to adults and kids ages ten and up. The class is limited to 20 students and participants must register by March 27 by calling Marie at (401) 568-4219.

Town meetings

The Glocester Recreation Commission will hold a meeting on Tuesday, March 25 starting at 6:30 p.m. at Town Hall at 1145 Putnam Pike. The agenda is here.

The Glocester Land Trust will not hold their regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, March 25.

The Glocester Historic District Commission will hold a meeting on Wednesday, March 26 starting at 7 p.m. at Town Hall at 1145 Putnam Pike. The agenda is here.

The Chepachet Fire District Executive Board will hold a meeting on Wednesday, March 26 starting at 7 p.m. at the fire station at 1170 Putnam Pike. The agenda is here.

The Glocester Budget Board has cancelled the meeting originally scheduled for Wednesday, March 26.

The Glocester Zoning Board meeting originally scheduled for Thursday, March 17 has been cancelled.
