The North Smithfield Emergency Management Agency has announced that a free life-saving program will be offered to the first 50 registered town residents on Saturday, March 22. The 2.5 hour program will be taught in accordance to the American Heart Association, The American College of Surgeons and the American Safety & Health Institute standards, with certificates awarded upon successful completion.
Incidents such as cardiac arrest, chocking and serious bleeding do take place and most bystanders want to help until professional care arrives. This program will change by-standers into by-doers, thus giving the sick and injured a chance for a better outcome.
The course will be held at Scouter’s Hall by Pacheco Park from 9 a.m. to noon. For reservations call Town Hall at (401) 767-2200 #301.
For event questions call Richard Savaria at (401) 527-8959.
Would love to join the program, I was certified as a EMT in Mass after retirement from NYNEX 30 years.
