BURRILLVILLE – With weather forecasts calling for accumulating snow Sunday night into Monday morning, it’s a great time to remind kids and families about winter snow activities safety.

Kids love to snowboard and ride sleds down hills covered with fresh snow after a storm during the winter season. It’s very important to remind kids that they need to wear a safety helmet on their heads to help prevent unintentional head injuries while participating in winter snow activities.

The Fearless Dino Protector Squad wants to make sure kids are safer all winter season while playing outside. Play it safe kids, and make sure that you wear a safety helmet while snowboarding and sledding. Take your turn and watch out for others on snow covered hills in your neighborhood.

Jim Weicherding is a Burrillville resident, and the founder and creator of an award-winning traffic safety effort Seasons of Safety. Weicherding contributes kids’ coloring cartoons, which can be printed and used to help parents discuss safety issues with their children. He has a long list of police officers and firefighters in his family and has worked with law enforcement and firefighters in a creative public safety capacity for more than two decades.
