Sunday cartoon: Practice exit drills in the home

BURRILLVILLE – Every household should practice exit drills in the home while the weather allows us to do so. Snowy weather will soon arrive here in the New England region.

Statistics related to home and apartment fires are much higher during the holiday season and during the cold winter months. Holidays include Christmas trees, electric lights, candles and kitchen cooking and baking activities, all of which can be hazardous if not done properly. Safety should always come first.

A very important message regarding fire safety and burn prevention involves practicing exit drills and establishing meeting places outside and away from a potential fire. The Fearless Dino Protector Squad wants to encourage families to practice exit drills in the home and go to a safe meeting place while the weather is still somewhat accommodating. It only takes a few minutes and could potentially prevent unintentional burns and severe injuries, and save lives. Taking the time now can put everyone at ease and allow them to concentrate on enjoying the holiday season.

Please share this Sunday feature coloring cartoon and article with family and friends. Have a happy and safe holiday season.
