BURRILLVILLE – It’s a free community event featuring live musical entertainment, food, family activities and growing participation by local organizations, and its set to take place on a beautiful afternoon this weekend.
The 28th Burrillville Family Fun Fair will be held on Saturday, June 15 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Stillwater Mill Center adjacent to the Jesse Smith Library.
The event always brings out a unique array of community groups and offers free kids activities, including face painting and games played on the pavilion’s expansive lawn.
New this year is the addition of Balloon Art by Ciel taking place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Pony Rides by Liberty Farm will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
The Farmer’s Market will be offering their goods during this year’s fair, and hosting musical entertainment provided by Charlie Marie.
There will be class demonstrations, food offered by Championship Melt, Anabell’s Ice Cream, free giveaways, raffles and numerous informational booths.
A pie eating contest for both kids and adults will take place at 11 a.m., with small trophies for the winners.
The Child Identification Program organized by the Freemasons will once again take place inside the Jesse Smith Library. Harrisville Fire Department will again have their inflatable smoke house and rescue vehicles to explore.
Agencies and organizations that serve the community will be displaying their information including local fire departments, health care organizations, local churches, and businesses throughout Rhode Island. Demonstrations will take place for the Burrillville Parks & Recreation Department’s Adult Tap Program by Derek Kunz, Adele Karbowski’s art program and Mike Kropman’s fencing program.
The event is organized annually by the Burrillville Parks & Recreation Department, working in collaboration with the Burrillville Farmer’s Market and Jesse Smith Library. Visit the Parks & Recreation Information Booth to receive a bag to collect event information and giveaways including details on the town’s summer camp program.
Boxes of macaroni & cheese will be collected for the Burrillville Weekend Snack Pack Program. For every box donated, guests will receive a free raffle ticket for a chance to win prizes at the raffle tables. Raffle tickets will be available to purchase for a chance to win donated baskets and other items. All raffle proceeds to benefit the Burrillville Weekend Snack Pack Program.
