BURRILLVILLE – On Friday, Oct. 19 staff at Jesse Smith Memorial Library offered tours of the facility after dark, telling guests of the secrets and mysteries that some say haunt the building.
Guests were often submerged in darkness and frightened by ghosts and ghouls as they heard of the apparitions that plague staff.
Library staff told tales of the property’s history, noting that there were injuries and even deaths among the generations of mill workers that once labored there.
It was a large turnout for the free event, and tours continued well past the allotted time.
