United Way
The United Way of Rhode Island 211 Outreach Van will be at the Jesse Smith Memorial Library at 100 Tinkham Lane on Thursday, March 20 from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Representatives will help to assist and connect residents with local resources for housing, food and medical assistance and more.
Rolls & butter
The Burrillville Junior Hockey League is selling rolls and butter from Texas Roadhouse at a cost of $9 a dozen. Orders will be available for pickup at Hill’s Tavern at 417 Putnam Pike on Saturday, April 12 between noon and 3 p.m.
Proceeds will help the league from all orders placed here.
Book sale
The Burrillville Historical & Preservation Society will hold a book sale on Saturday, March 22 at 16 Laurel Hill Ave. from 1 to 4 p.m., with books on sale for $5 a bag. Visitors are also invited to browse through the organization’s collection of historical records and old photos.
Spring show
The Burrillville Figure Skating Association will hold its annual Spring Show on Sunday, March 23 starting at noon at Levy Rink at Burrillville High School at 425 East Ave. Tickets will cost $10 cash at the door.
Cooking class
Burrillville Seventh Day Adventist Church at 854 Victory Highway will host a free plant-based cooking class on Sunday, March 23 at 2 p.m. All are welcome to the free event, to include demonstrations and food tastings of soup and sandwich recipes.
