Congratulations to Allie Stockwell of Burrillville, a junior at Dean College, for being named the WLAX GNAC goalkeeper of the week.

Reopening

Bravo Brewing Company at 75 Pascoag Main St. has announced that the brewery will reopen on Friday, Feb. 28 from 5 to 10 p.m. The brewery has been closed since December after a sprinkler pipe burst in the building, destroying both the facility and equipment.

On Friday, Jesse Desorcy Music will perform and The Sticks Pizza Co. food truck will be on site. Owner Chris Mishoe noted that the brewery will have a limited selection while they brew inventory, but has ordered imported drafts kegs for the reopening.

March Giving

Burrillville High School Civic Liaisons Dylan Franklin and Jillian Russell are seeking donations for both the St. Patrick’s food pantry and Burrillville Animal Control in a March Giving program announced this week. The students are collecting cat and dog food and treats; paper towels; dish soap; pasta and sauce; canned fruit and vegetables; peanut butter and jelly; tea; and shampoo and conditioner. Collection locations will be set up at Brigido’s in Pascoag, New Rhode Nutrition and Burrillville Town Hall from March 1 to March 27.

Sand

With the warmer weather this week, concerns about ice may be abated for now, but the Burrillville Department of Public Works would like to make Burrillville residents aware that there are two locations for self-serve sand pickup to be used for traction on ice: Clear River Road, under the green sign adjacent to the Burrillville Animal Shelter and at the former DPW building on Union Avenue. Residents only are asked to take what they need and leave some for others as it takes large amounts of sand and salt to keep roads as safe and clear

Audition workshop

The Assembly Theatre at 26 East Ave. will hold an audition workshop with AssemblyACT on Sunday, March 2 from 5 to 8 p.m. The workshop will cover topics including what to bring to auditions; how to best prepare for auditions; what to expect at auditions; how to set yourself apart and what the production staff wants to see. Following the discussion, there will be signups open for mock auditions and cold reads, giving participants the opportunity to test out their audition materials and receive feedback from directors. Participants are invited to bring in a song and/or monologue. The attendance fee is $15,
