BURRILLVILLE – We are well into the holiday season and there are plenty of seasonal decorations on display inside and outside many of our apartments and houses this time of year.
Christmas trees are adorned with lights until after the New Year, and there are hazards that come along with those decorations that could ruin the holiday season if not properly maintained and monitored with small children and pets around the home. Keep children away from decorative lights, extension cords and outlets. Keeping kids away from these areas helps prevent unintentional burns and electric shock. Keeping household pets away from these potential hazards can also prevent unintentional burns and shocks regarding our furry family members.
The Fearless Dino Protector Squad wants to remind parents and guardians about the importance of keeping kids and families safer during the busy holiday season. Turn off decorations and lights whenever you leave your apartment or house to help prevent fires in the home. It’s easy enough to turn everything back on once you return from running errands, or shopping, or just leaving the residence for a short period of time. It’s never safe to leave holiday decorations on and unattended. Preventing fires, burns and shock should be a priority during this time of year. Stay vigilant and stay safe during the holiday season.
Please share with family and friends and have a safe holiday season and a Merry Christmas.
