Early voting

Early voting for this year’s General Election begins this week, and Glocester residents will be able to cast a ballot at Town Hall at 1145 Putnam Pike starting on Wednesday, Oct. 16. Early voting will continue through Monday, Nov. 4 during the hours of 8 a.m. through 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Today – Tuesday, Oct. 15 – is the final day to apply for a mail ballot.

Heart & Soul

The Chepachet Grange is inviting residents to join them on Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 8 p.m. to participate in the Heart & Soul Project’s World Outreach by making music. Participants of all ages and abilities are invited to play their own instruments or use the Grange’s piano and keyboard for the activity, and vocalists are also welcomed.

Saturday, Nov. 16 is Heart & Soul Day and local participation will be will be posted on the organization’s Facebook page along with other groups from around the world. The activity will be directed by Arlene Sherman.

Fallfest

The Farm at 463 Tourtellot Hill Road will hold its third annual Fallfest on Saturday, Oct. 19 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The festive shopping and crafting experience will include a petting zoo, a free craft table, a fall-inspired expanded bakery menu, and fall shopping lines with in store artisans as well as pop up artisans.

Scarecrow Festival

The Glocester Scarecrow Festival will take place on Saturday, Oct. 19 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Chepachet village. The event will include a marketplace, food trucks, live entertainment and activities, with performances by the Southern New England Witch Dancers. View more than 100 entries in this year’s scarecrow competition, enjoy pony rides, a petting zoo and more at the event, sponsored by Friendship Lodge #7.

Pasta dinner

The Harmony Fire Department will host a pasta dinner on Saturday, Oct. 19 from 4 to 8 p.m. Tickets cost $15, with kids under age 6 to eat free, and can be purchased at the station at 194 Putnam Pike.

Town meetings

The Glocester Board of Canvassers will hold a meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 15 starting at 10 a.m. at Town Hall at 1145 Putnam Pike. The agenda is here.

The Glocester Planning Board workshop originally scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 15 has been cancelled.

The Glocester Town Council is scheduled to hold a meeting on Thursday, Oct. 17 starting at 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall at 1145 Putnam Pike. The agenda is expected to be posted 48 hours in advance on the Secretary of State’s website here.
