BURRILLVILLE – With the recent hurricanes in the southern part of the country it is not unrealistic to think that a severe weather occurrence could also happen here in this region. Even if it isn’t a high impact hurricane, severe weather can happen here in Rhode Island during this time of year. The hurricane season doesn’t end in New England until November.
A very important message to kids and families that may be dealing with a severe weather event is to always bring your family pet indoors or inside your home and apartment prior to the storm in order to avoid having to go outside and retrieve your pet during these severe weather conditions. It’s safer for the pet and it’s safer for you. Make sure the bad weather conditions have passed before returning your pet back outdoors. Pets can become extremely anxious and afraid of severe storms, especially thunderstorms.
Be safe. Bring pets inside and keep them safer too.
