BURRILLVILLE – Buckle Up America Weeks begin Monday, May 22, and continue until June, 4.

These two nationally recognized focus weeks will have police officers nationwide patrolling our streets, roadways and highways making sure that every driver and passenger are safely buckled up in their vehicles during the busy summer travel months. These weeks are police department’s continuing efforts related to public safety across the U.S., as a seasonal launch timeline with enhanced strategies that help reduce and minimize Memorial Day Holiday Weekend injuries and deaths involving motor vehicles on America’s roadways.

Children aged 12 years old and younger should be properly restrained in backseats for their safety. Infants and toddlers should be properly restrained in rear-facing car seats that are also installed in the backseat of every vehicle. Car seats should be inspected by certified car seat inspectors to help insure that they are safe for little kids while riding in cars and trucks. Your local police department can assist you in providing a certified car seat inspector. Many have police officers that are certified and extremely knowledgeable and helpful when it comes to vehicle safety regarding children in car seats.

This Sunday feature includes a Buckleupallofus Boost Up! Buckle Up! Kids coloring cartoon reminding everyone that backseats are the safest place for children when riding in vehicles. This Bucky coloring cartoon also includes cool classic cars, trucks and hot rods for kids to color in while being reminded about their vehicle safety.

Have a great and safe summer season and always Buckleupallofus for safety!
