NORTH SMITHFIELD – Rhode Island State Police arrested a North Smithfield man this week after a search of his home reportedly uncovered 15 ghost guns and 36 large capacity feeding devices.

Elliott Knorr, 43, one charge each of firing in a compact area and conspiracy to fire in a compact area, along with 15 counts of possession of a ghost gun and 36 counts of large-capacity feeding devices prohibited.

According to a release from the state police, the arrest was made Wednesday, March 29 following an extensive investigation by the Intelligence Unit and Violent Fugitive Task Force. During the investigation, the unit determined that Knorr was in possession of privately made firearms, otherwise known as “ghost guns,” and executed a search warrant.

“I’m proud of the exceptional work our Troopers did on this investigation,” said Col Darnell Weaver, superintendent of the Rhode Island State Police and director of the Department of Public Safety. “Ghost guns are a real threat to public safety and being able to impede their manufacture is a win.”

Knorr was arraigned in Third District Court where he was issued a bail of $25,000 with surety and ordered to surrender any additional firearms.

  1. If the discussion is Constitutional, they avoid it.
It’s all about “feelings and perception” these days. Our civil rights are being abrogated at every turn.

  2. There are more comments on a book that’s being banned than THIS!!!! That is what’s wrong here & everywhere!!! I’m curious if his neighbors ever suspected anything “unusual” or “concerning” about their neighbor. Probably not, cuz maybe they’re not nosy or maybe THEY CARE MORE ABOUT BOOKS & TOWN COUNCIL B.S. Mr. Fred Rogers once asked- “who are the people in your neighborhood?”.
