Santa at Stillwater, Walls of Steel & Wonder of Christmas: Five things to know in Burrillville this week

Santa at Stillwater

Burrillville Parks & Recreation has announced that the annual Santa at Stillwater event will take place on Saturday, Dec. 3 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Stillwater Mill Pavilion. The event will include holiday music performed by the Burrillville Middle School Chorus, cookie decorating at Jesse Smith Library, raffles, donuts, hot cocoa and Santa arriving by fire truck. Each child attending will receive a small gift, and food treat and pet products will be collected for the Burrillville Animal Shelter. The blizzard date for the event is Saturday, Dec. 10.

Walls of Steel

Wallum Lake Rod & Gun Club will host its annual Holiday Walls of Steel Charity Match on Sunday, Dec. 4 from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The entry fee will be $20 and an unwrapped toy, or you can donate an unwrapped toy without registering. All proceeds will go to a local organization to help families in need this Christmas. Go to practiscore.com to register.

Wonder of Christmas Bazaar

St. Theresa’s Church at 35 Dion Drive will hold the Wonder of Christmas Bazaar & Crafts Fair on Dec. 2-4 with a penny social, holiday gifts and handmade crafts for sale, along with treats, sweets, raffles and more. All proceeds will benefit Our Lady of Good Help and St. Theresa’s Shrine Parish. Hours for the event are Friday from noon to 7 p.m.; Saturday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Sunday from 9 a.m to 2 p.m. Saturday’s event will also include wine & cheese from 3 to 6 p.m.

Once you’re done, swing by St. Patrick’s Church at 45 Harrisville Main St. to check out their annual bazaar.

Jingle Mingle

The Burrillville High School Music Boosters will hold the annual Jingle Mingle Craft Fair on Saturday, Dec. 3 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the high school at 425 East Ave. Items from dozens of local vendors will be on sale along with baked goods and treats, with all proceeds to benefit the BHS music program.

Town meetings

The Pascoag Utility District Board of Utility Commissioners will hold a regular meeting on Monday, Nov. 28 starting at 2 p.m. at 253 Pascoag Main St. The agenda is here.

The Burrillville School Committee will hold a budget workshop on Tuesday, Nov. 29 starting at 5 p.m. at the administration building at 2300 Bronco Highway. The agenda is here.

The Burrillville Affordable Housing Board will hold a meeting on Thursday, Dec. 1 starting at 6 p.m. at the Town Hall Annex at 144 Harrisville Main St. The agenda is here.
