Letter: Paul Jones will fight for North Smithfield

Those of you who have met Paul Jones know that he is a fighter. For those who don’t know him, he sent a personalized letter to your home introducing himself. I hope you took the time to read it. The letter wasn’t about slogans. It wasn’t a leaflet with bullet points. It lays out, in full detail, why he decided to run for state representative.  With a young child, a new business, and recovering from a serious illness, this could not have been an easy decision to make. But Paul is all in when he commits himself to a cause. And his cause is improving the quality of life for North Smithfield residents.

Paul was committed to mental health long before it was cool. Likewise, he is the strongest advocate one could ask for when it comes to protecting and supporting seniors. He has consistently lobbied on behalf of veterans.  He supports a woman’s right to make decisions about her body. He is an unwavering supporter of our schools. And of course, he understands better than most the challenges we all face when navigating the Health Care system. Paul realizes that there is a lot that can be done at the state level, and he is ready, willing, and able to lead that change.

Rural towns in Rhode Island can sometimes be overlooked at the state house. Paul will lobby to ensure that our town gets a fair share of resources. I believe that Paul will listen to all of his constituents and will be sure to convey our messages, our concerns and our victories to the general assembly. Perhaps most importantly, Paul is one of the truest people I’ve ever met. He will be completely honest with you – even if he knows you won’t necessarily like the answer. He will not change his views based on political whims or climate.

I’m voting for Paul Jones because I know he will advocate for our town each and every day. North Smithfield and the residents that reside here are his North Star. I am confident that when Paul enters the statehouse, he will bring with him the energy and passion needed to move our state and our town forward.

  1. I agree with Anne Marie.
He definitely will not be receiving my vote.
He is a creep who does not belong in any political office position!!

  2. My experience with Paul on the School Committee, seeing him among those who refused to agree that parents with concerns are not terrorists, and then defending the presence of pornographic books in the student library, tells me that he should never be in a position to influence public policy.

  3. You lost me at Paul Jones is a fighter. He does nothing but grandstand for himself at any opportunity. Including using children as a jumping off point for this very election. Never met a “man” that comes off more disingenuous and fake. Creep through and through.
