WOONOSOCKET – A North Smithfield woman was charged with suspicion of driving under the influence this week after reportedly striking two other vehicles while driving in Woonsocket.

Stephanie Conca, 49, was at the intersection of Park Avenue and Greene Street around 5 p.m. on Friday, August 12 when she collided with a pickup truck, according to reports. She then reversed the vehicle, striking another car stopped behind her.

Conca left the scene of the accident and the pickup truck followed her, with both ultimately pulling into the parking lot of the Woonsocket police station on Clinton Street.

An officer who spoke to her at the station said that Conca had slurred speech, and stated that a field sobriety test indicated that she may have been under the influence, according to a report in The Call.

Conca refused to submit to a chemical test resulting in one charge, along with suspicion of DUI and two counts of leaving the scene of an accident.

  1. Hope she gets help. Sober myself about 17 years , she will find if she gets sober, life will improve 100 percent.
