BPAC Town Hall

The Burrillville Prevention Action Coalition will host a community Town Hall on Wednesday, April 20 at Jesse Smith Memorial Library from 3 to 7 p.m. All are invited to attend the free event and can read more about the plans, put together primarily by BPAC youth, here.

Earth Day update

Have you started doing your part to clean up litter yet? Burrillville’s Earth Day is officially on Saturday, April 23, but cleanups have already begun taking place throughout town and will continue through Saturday, April 30. To take part in this town-wide volunteer effort contact Trash & Recycling Coordinator Andrea Hall for supplies by calling (401) 710-4214 or ahall@burrillville.org. The town’s Public Works Department will pick up your filled bags of litter.

Hall said that more than 160 people have already registered to take part.

Dinner Dance

There is still time to get your ticket for St. Patrick’s Church’s annual Spring Dinner/Dance to be held this Saturday, April 23 in the church hall. The event will feature classic rock & roll with the Live Music Band, a cash bar and chicken dinner starting at 5:30 p.m.

Tickets are $25 per person, or two for $35, and can be purchased by calling (401) 568-5600 or (401) 568-4723.

Rising Stars

A concert at the Assembly Theatre on Friday, April 22 starting at 6 p.m. will raise funds for the Rhode Island-based nonprofit Children’s Wishes as part of North Smithfield High School student Allison Wildgoose’s senior project. The event will include refreshments, raffles and more. Tickets are $5 and will be available at the door with cash or Venmo.

Pasta dinner tickets

The Burrillville Lions Club’s annual event to raise funds for college-bound local seniors will be held next week on Monday, April 25 from 4-8 p.m.. The club now hosts a pasta dinner at Serio’s Pizza in Pascoag in place of the long-held scholarship breakfast.

Get your tickets in advance for eat in or take out ziti and meatball dinners by calling Scott Blanchette at (401) 323-5354. Tickets cost $10 or $5 for children age 10 and under.

Town meetings

The Burrillville Conservation Commission will hold a meeting on Tuesday, April 19 starting at 7 p.m. at 103 Harrisville Main St. The agenda can be found here.
