BURRILLVILLE – A 37-year-old man was arrested this week after police uncovered more than 200 firearms during a raid of his home on Tarkiln Road.

Ronald Andruchuk was taken into custody following an investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosive and the Burrillville Police Department that lead to the search, and seizure of 211 firearms and pounds of ammunition, announced U.S. Attorney Zachary Cunha.

Officers reportedly responded to Andruchuk’s home Thursday morning for a report of shots fired, marking their ninth visit to the home for such complaints in recent months. Gunfire was still erupting from the residence when they arrived, with bullets passing within four feet of officers, according to Cunha.

Andruchuk was found wearing a bulletproof vest and carrying four firearms, as well as methamphetamine at the home, which he shares with his wife and three young children.

Police say an investigation of the Burrillville man, a 2018 candidate for House District 14, began in fall of 2021, when he purchased 169 firearms from federally licensed dealers. Andruchuk, who had previously been arrested on drug charges, reportedly made false statements on ATF applications submitted between July and November of 2021.

In December 2021, police reportedly located two firearms, drugs, and other items in the drop ceiling of a bathroom inside a Millbury, Mass., retail store shortly after Andruchuk vacated the restroom.

The arrest was part of a Department of Justice violent crime reduction effort known as Project Safe Neighborhoods, and is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Ronald Gendron and Sandra Hebert.

Andruchuk has been charged in a federal criminal complaint with possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, making false statements in an application to purchase firearms and causing false records to be kept by a federally-licensed firearms dealer. Burrillville police are also lodging a charge of firing in a compact area.

  1. Well he is being released per order of judge McConnell….due only to have substance abuse issues and mental health issues…..but still employed as a social worker getting his Masters. I believe as a retired medical professional that this decision is going to have many walking on egg shells. Some judicial decisions have proven to be very very wrong. Pray this is not one of them…..

  2. This is what you get with our “Second Amendment sanctuary” BS. You asked for it Burrilltuckey, and you got it.
