Memphis Sun Mafia will play at Cady's Tavern Friday night.

Northern, RI – If you’re itching for some fun this weekend, there’s no need to let the gloomy weather or gas prices slow you down.

We have great news: you don’t have to travel far for a great time, with local brews, live acts – and one band even offering a two-show “tour” right on Route 44.

In this weekly feature on northern Rhode Island entertainment, we’ve put together a list highlighting music and fun so local that you’ll barely have time to warm up the car.

This week, we’ve added a few shows in neighboring Smithfield, along with a chance to catch some local talent at a benefit in Connecticut.

And if you’re looking to get out midweek, Gator’s Pub in North Smithfield just announced that the bar now has karaoke every Tuesday and Thursday from 9 p.m. to 12:45 a.m.

However you choose to spend your time, be sure to stay safe, and have fun, northern Rhode Island.
