GLOCESTER – A longtime Glocester police officer has been suspended without pay following a domestic incident in Johnston earlier this month.
Officer David Hebert, 54, of Dayville, Connecticut was arrested for multiple felony and misdemeanor charges on Monday, Dec. 6, according to reports.
Hebert, a senior patrol officer who has been with the department for 22 years, was charged with domestic breaking and entering, domestic assault, domestic vandalism, disorderly conduct, and simple assault.
According to a story on WJAR 10, Hebert is accused of breaking into the garage of a female, assaulting her, and damaging Christmas decorations and bags of concrete. A criminal complaint states that around 1 a.m., the police officer also assaulted a second woman from Johnston.
Hebert was released on $5,000 personal recognizance and ordered to have no contact with one of the victim following an arraignment in Kent County District Court.
