Christmas in July

Wright’s Dairy Farm & Bakery is holding Christmas in July this week, with holiday favorites available on the menu from July 19 through July 25. Items include Christmas cookies, Rum Balls and Egg Nog and can be picked up in store or ordered in advance online at https://wrightsdairyfarm.com/

See the Worcester Red Sox

The North Smithfield Parks & Recreation Department is inviting residents to visit the Worcester Red Sox at Polar Park when they play the Syracuse Mets on Sunday, August 15 at 1:05 p.m. The game takes place on Military Appreciation Day, Family Funday Sunday and Kids Run the Bases.

Tickets are $21 each with group seating in the third base field box section. Tickets include a special scoreboard message and a $2 pre-loaded ballpark credit for concessions/merchandise. A group minimum of 15 people is required.

Gala tickets, raffle

The North Smithfield Heritage Association is making a final push to sell tickets to the 2021 Gala, scheduled to be held at The Village Haven on Saturday, July 31 from 6 to 10 p.m. The event will including dinner, raffles and dancing, with casual dress. Tickets cost $25 per person and can be purchased at Goodwin’s Farm Stand, Lil’General, Village Paint and Town Hall, or by calling (401) 578-4360 or emailing bill@extremesales.net.

A special drawing will be held at the gala for a liquor basket raffle, with proceeds to benefit the restoration of the Slatersville Grenadiers Dorr Rebellion Flag, c. 1842. Tickets for the liquor basket raffle cost $5 and you do not need to be present to win. They can be purchased by emailing nsha@nsheritageassn.com.

Summer concert

The North Smithfield Summer Concert Series begins this week with country and rock act Scott Fowler & Southbound Band playing on Thursday, July 22 at a free event starting at 6 p.m. Concerts will take place behind Town Hall this year at 83 Greene St, by the gazebo on top of the hill. Food trucks will be on site for the events and parking is available at Town Hall.

Town meetings

The North Smithfield Town Council will hold a meeting on Monday, July 19 starting at 6:45 p.m. Residents can attend in person or via Zoom. The agenda and link to attend is here.

The North Smithfield School Committee will hold a meeting on Tuesday, July 20 starting at 6:30 p.m. Residents can attend virtually with a link and agenda found here.

The North Smithfield Zoning Board will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, July 20 starting at 7 p.m. at 83 Green St. Residents can attend virtually or via Zoom with an agenda and instructions to attend found here.

The North Smithfield Sewer Commission will hold a meeting on Wednesday, July 21 starting at 7 p.m. The public can attend virtually with the agenda and link found here.
