Booster fundraiser

Support the Burrillville High School Music Department by ordering from Chipotle in Lincoln on Wednesday, May 26 between 5 and 9 p.m. A portion of proceeds will go toward the program when you say you support the BHS Music Boosters.

Summer Hoops Camp

The Burrillville Parks and Recreation Department is now accepting registrations for Summer Hoops Camp to be held Monday through Thursday from July 12-15 at Burrillville Middle School. Registration costs $90 for ages 6-9, to be held 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. and $105 for ages 10-15, to be held from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Learn to Swim

The Burrillville Lions Club will hold its 73rd Learn to Swim program at Spring Lake Beach this summer, with lessons taught Mondays through Fridays by a certified instructor. The cost for the weekly session is $25 per child and each family must also purchase a Family Beach Pass for the season at a cost of $30.

Swim lessons are only available to Burrillville residents and will be held June 21-25, and June 28-July 2, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. for ages 3-5; and 11:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m. for ages 6-12.

Beach opening

Speaking of Spring Lake, the beach will open for Memorial Day weekend with hours from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, May 29 through Monday, May 31, weather permitting. The beach will open full-time for the season starting Saturday, June 5.

Town meetings

The Burrillville Planning Board will hold a special meeting on Monday, May 24 via Zoom starting at 7 p.m. An agenda and link to attend are here.

The Burrillville Sewer Commission will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, May 25 starting at 6:30 p.m. regarding wastewater treatment facility operation and maintenance. The agenda and instructions to attend remotely are here.

The Burrillville Redevelopment Agency will hold a meeting on Tuesday, May 25 starting at 7 p.m. An agenda and link to attend via Zoom are here.

The Burrillville Town Council will hold a regular meeting on Wednesday, May 26 starting at 7 p.m. The agenda and link for virtual attendance are here.

The Oakland Mapleville Fire District will hold a monthly meeting on Wednesday, May 26 starting at 7 p.m. at the fire station at 46 Oakland School St. The agenda can be found here.

The Nasonville Water District will hold a quarterly meeting on Wednesday, May 26 starting at 7 p.m. at the Nasonville Fire Station at 2577 Victory Highway. Notice of the meeting can be found here.

The Town Council will also hold a public hearing on the proposed budget for the upcoming fiscal year on Thursday, May 27 starting at 7 p.m. The agenda and link for that meeting are here.

The Pascoag Fire District Board of Fire Commissioners will hold on Tuesday, May 25 at 6 p.m. for the purpose of canvassing and correcting the voting list to be used at the special meeting to be held on Wednesday, June 2. The agenda and instructions to attend are here.
