NORTH SMITHFIELD – Someone in the area is $1 million richer… at least if they come forward to claim their prize within the next two weeks.

The winner of a $1 million lottery ticket, reportedly purchased last year at Seasons Corner Market on Great Road, has not yet claimed their prize.

According to a woman who works at the store, opened in January of last year, Rhode Island Lottery officials contacted the business’s corporate office with notice of the win.

The Mega Millions ticket was purchased at the store at 780 Great Road in North Smithfield on Saturday, March 14, 2020. The drawing took place on  Tuesday, March 17, and the winning numbers that day were 20, 27, 28, 58 and 59, with Mega Ball 25.

In Rhode Island, Mega Millions tickets expire one year from the draw date, which means the winner must come forward by Wednesday, March 17.

A spokesperson from the Rhode Island Lottery did not immediately return a call for comment.
