Brothers & Belles

The North Smithfield Heritage Association is seeking men to join their “Brothers of the Brush.” In honor of the town’s 150th anniversary, the group pledges not to shave for the entire year of 2021.

The group is scheduled to meet monthly, virtually at first, and in person when conditions allow.

According to the NSHA newsletter this month, fun and frivolity is mandatory and support for community events is optional.

Women, meanwhile, are invited to join the Centennial Belles for celebration of the special occasion. To learn more contact NSHA President Richard Keene at rfkeene6@gmail.com.

NSHA will also be holding its latest heritage hike this weekend, with exploration of the Harkness Conservation Area. Participants will meet at the Forestdale Schoolhouse at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 13.
